The Help Lines
If possible you should use a Twixt Board with help lines (looking like a star) as shown below.
If you play Twixt at Little Golem you can select such a board at "Main --> Edit User Properties" by selecting the check box for the Larger board.
The advantage of this board is that you can see immediately if a planned run might be successful for you - without guessing or finger pointing the whole way through.
